Freedom Clinics as Solutions for Chronic Neck Pain

Tired of hurting all the time?
What is fascia and why is it important?
Fascia is connective tissue organized as an interconnected 3D network. It wraps around every cell, tissue and organ. Think of it like a web that supports the bones, muscles, etc. Without it the body would fall apart. It holds the bones in place as opposed to the bones holding the muscles and fascia in place.
Chronic neck pain can be very deabilitating. Especially for people who do desk work or use a computer/laptop a lot for recreation or business. A few simple things we can do is simply to take one minute out of every 30 minutes spent in front of the computer to move our neck around and gently stretch in all directions to encourage the opening of the connective tissuse as opposed to the solidification of the ground substance within the connective tissue.

Common Causes for Neck Pain
Forward head posture is one of the most common postural imbalances in the body. Some of the symptoms include the following:
1. Tension-type headaches
2. Tempero-mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
3. 'Knots' in the back of the neck
4. 'Rocks' in the shoulders
5. Sore chest muscles
6. General irritability
7. Poor sleep
8. Chronic achy feeling all over
9. Numbness or tingling in the arms and/or hands
10. Trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain)
The top 5 causes for forward head posture are:
1. Looking down while typing or reading
2. Looking into a microscope
3. Sitting improperly with shoulders rounded and back hunched
4. Driving with your head more than 2 to 3 inches away from the headrest
5. Carrying a backpack or heavy purse slung over one shoulder
These day-to-day activities put strain on the sub-occipital, temporalis, sternocliedomastoid, scalenes & longus colli muscles but possibly more importantly it is a constant strain on the anterior & lateral line of fascia in the body that connects all of these muscles to bring the head forward. In myofascial treatments we address these two lines and the fascia profunda within some of the individual muscles as well. These releases allow your head to fall back in alignment with less effort. This along with self-care e-cises and increasing your awareness about your body in day-to-day activities will put you on that edge of optimal alignment which will relieve you of pain.

What's a Freedom Clinic?
A Freedom Clinic is an opportunity to explore & experiment to deepen awareness & improve function.
It is an opportunity to experience a 1 hour session of myofascial release therapy (approx. 15 minutes of assessment and 45 minutes of treatment) for only $40 which is half the pro-rate. We hold Freedom Clinics on specific dates and we provide 9 clinical fascial sessions on this day. To reserve your clinical session fill-in the form below. This is clinical bodywork and is given at a lower rate to introduce you to the functionality of fascial release. The following is what we require for you to participate in one of our clinics.
- We provide you with a plan that ranges from 5-10 sessions over the course of 1-3 months in order to address your fascial condition.
- We require you to wear fitted sports gear (or underwear) that gives the practitioner access to most of your skin as lotion is rarely used.
- We require you to fill this form out in full so that you have it ready upon entering the clinic. This is a time saving measure.
- We recommend programming our phone number (208) 870-9753 into your cell phone so when we call you know who it is.
- We require down payment over either Pay Pal below or over the phone using Square credit/debit card processing
- We need to stick to a strict time schedule for these sessions so if your late it will cut into your time.

The following two videos give examples of some of the myofascial therapies we apply to give you an idea of what to expect.
Dr. Gil Hedley explains the importance of therapies that
address the fascia and why injuries and repetitive actions cause
restrictions and hinder full range of motion. Mind you this is a cadaver
and we don't really know if these fascial restrictions occur like this
in living organisms, however it gives us some insight into a possible
cause. The 2nd video is a collection of fascia research speakers.
